The economic inequalities between Switzerland and D.R.Congo could not be any bigger even though the Congo possesses the most important mineral resources in the world, whereas Switzerland has close to none. In the age of global tax optimisation, the Congolese citizens can longer expect to profit in any way from the business with their mineral resources for the profits are rather taxed in Zug or in the Cayman Islands than in their country. What they are left with are ruined landscapes, poisoned fields, land conflicts, destroyed social infrastructures, poverty, famine. But who can do something against global injustices at all? The international community? The Swiss Federal Attorney’s Office? The arts?
