This workshop is addressed to anyone wishing to deepen and expand the critical debate on racism. According to the workshop leaders «it takes knowledge and sensitivity in order to recognise racism, it calls for a language in order to name racism. It needs self-reflexion in order to recognise and change one’s own advantages based on a hierarchical social structure». Rahel El-Maawi is a lecturer on social culture, movement researcher and facilitator for diversity-oriented and organisational development and Jovita dos Santos Pinto a doctoral student at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Bern, with a focus on black studies and post-colonialism. In the run-up to this workshop, the participants will receive written and audio texts, upon which the workshop will build. Further inputs and exercises will help to deepen and expand antiracism practice and certain behaviours will be tested in acting against racial discrimination. (zts)
