Everything that is normally central to the Theater Spektakel is rather peripheral this year: the spectacle, the performances, the large crowds. The pandemic has put us all on hold. Instead, we engage in listening, examining, questioning. All of this is beneficial to the Regulars’ Table. The well-established, discussion low-threshold format takes place again this year – not every evening, and not on the Landiwiese but in postmigrant Zurich venues such as the Eritrean restaurant Habesha in district 3. The discussions will be kicked off by various hosts: artists, activists, scientists, NGO representatives. Their thoughts on current social issues are an input into the discussions: How do artists of colour experience racism in Switzerland? Who can currently travel and where to? Does the corona crisis blind us to the really important questions? What about the countless refugees still stuck in camps at European borders?
Whether you prefer to listen or to talk, have an opinion or want to form one, the Regulars’ Table presents a good opportunity to encounter other people and perspectives. Join the discussions. The Regulars’ Table can only work with you. Sit down, there is a lot to talk about – and something to drink as well. (ll, nt)
